Dump Truck Program

Other All Day Event - Public Works

Note: Event is active 03-15-10 through 09-30-10.

Location: City Wide

In an effort to assist citizens with cleanup and disposal of unwanted materials on their property, the El Dorado Public Works Department is again offering, for a minimal fee, a dump truck service to its residential customers. The program will begin on Monday, March 15, 2010 and will run until October 1, 2009, weather permitting.

Program guidelines are as follows:

1. There will be a $15.00 charge to the requesting party to defray the landfill fee. If you pay a water bill at the residence the $15.00 charge may be put on the water bill, if not it must be prepaid.

2. Trucks may be reserved by contacting the Public Works Dept. at 316-322-4481.

3. Property must be located within the El Dorado city limits.

4. The dump truck will be placed at the requested address at approximately 3:00 PM, and picked up for dumping at 7:30 AM the following morning.

5. Trucks will be placed Monday through Thursday nights ONLY.

6. Users of the program should anticipate having a full load before requesting the truck. Partnering with neighbors is an option to obtain a full truckload.

7. There is a required two weeks waiting period for persons desiring to use the truck more than once.

8. You must cancel by 1pm on your scheduled day or the fee will still applied.

9. Trucks are available to property owners for cleanup of waste and disposal of debris. They are NOT available to contractors, roofers, etc., or for remodeling or construction wastes.

Tires and appliances are strictly prohibited. No grass or leaves may be put on the dump truck. Please leave the tailgates down. We will take limbs but they must be on the top of your load.

The El Dorado Public Works Department encourages citizens to take advantage of this service to clean up their properties and dispose of unwanted materials. In addition, citizens of El Dorado are reminded to take advantage of the Recycling and Yard-waste Composting Programs that the City is providing at no cost. The Yard-waste Compost Site is in the 500 block of East Locust.

If there are questions, please call the El Dorado Public Works Department at 316-322-4481.
